These settings touch looks only
Language, theme and font all live under Settings in the Verge Settings block. None of them affect proxy behavior, so nothing here can break your connection. Experiment freely.
Theme mode gives you three choices: light, dark, or follow system. Follow system reads the dark mode signal the operating system broadcasts. Windows and macOS send it reliably. Several Linux desktop environments do not, and the result is a setting that appears to do nothing at all. When that happens, stop fighting it and pick light or dark explicitly.
There is a reset if you overdo it
An accent color you regret goes away with the restore default control in the same block. You do not need to edit any file.

Interface language
Pick your language from the dropdown. Most of the text switches immediately and the app does not need a restart. If a few strings look stuck, close the window and open it again.

Theme mode and accent color
These two are independent. Theme mode decides light or dark. The accent color only repaints highlights such as buttons, selected rows and the active tab, and it will never darken the overall interface. Choosing a dark accent does not give you dark mode.

Interface font
The font field takes the name of a font already installed on your system, spelled the way the system spells it. Type a name that does not exist and nothing complains: the app falls back to its default silently, which reads like the setting was ignored.
What will not change when you switch
Language applies to the interface the app draws itself. Items the operating system contributes to the tray menu, and everything the core writes out, sit outside that scope. A log page that stays in English is normal, not a failed switch.

Common questions
I changed the language but parts of the interface are still English.
Two causes. Anything the Mihomo core produces, such as log lines and the field names on the connections page, is generated below the interface layer and stays English whatever you pick. Items the system draws into the tray menu do not follow either. If ordinary labels are still untranslated, restart the app once.
Theme is set to follow system, but switching the system to dark does nothing.
On Windows and macOS the change is usually instant, so restart the app first. On Linux the likelier reason is that your desktop environment does not broadcast a dark mode preference at all, leaving the app nothing to follow. Set the theme mode to dark explicitly and stop adjusting the system side.
